The wind in the willows

This year i have decided to try and finish the wind in the willows scene that i am trying to create.
The dream started with the sculpt i made of little Moley last year and i decided that i would have to make all the characters and of course a scene to place them all

The baby mice

Here is a tiny baby mouse asleep in a walnut shell that i made for my friend

and here she is for you to see!

This is Mervin Mouse . I made him for my daughter who loved the stories about the little character by Sylvia Creche when she was little.

He was great fun to make with his polymer clay rubber band tail!!

I have been making lots of little animals including rabbits, mice and a Mole. They are all going to be part of a scene i am planning to make.
Well here it is at last the picture of my Flowerpot cottage , made from a kit from petite properties in 1/48 scale.
This one was lovely to make and is quite different from all the other cottages i have made. I think it might be my favourite.

My first sculpted mouse

I havent posted for a long time now but i have still been busy with my miniatures. I have been sculpting little 12th scale animals from polymer clay and adding wool fibres to them for the fur. This is the first mouse i made. I dressed her in her little cotton dress and apron and i made her a bonnet after learning how to make hats in another Hazel dowd inline workshop.

A lady for my cottage

I have been taking part in the minis4all online workshop with the very talented Hazel Dowd,

The workshop was to make up a doll and dress her as an old lady sitting sewing. Well unfortunately for me the class which included a doll kit was full but i was able to join in if i had my own doll. So without any hesitation i purchased the cd and pattern from Hazel and got on with sculpting my own old lady from polymer clay ready for when the pattern would arrive.

I decided that my old lady would have fallen asleep at her work in the old cottage that i am slowly progressing at.
she is sitting on a wooden settle that i made from scratch and beside her is a little black and white cat , which i sculpted from polymer clay and flocked with wool fibre.
Now i just need to make her a husband.
I would really recommend Hazels patterns and cds to anyone they are so clear and easy to follow and the draping instructions are just brilliant. I will definately be buying more.
